Here's a short video of musical highlights from my trip.  We start off with a fantastic karaoke rendition of "I Love That Old Time Rock and Roll" sung in Estonian (?), then jump to Tallin's main square named Raekoja Plats for a concert by Slovenian ghetto percussion band Stroj Machine, and finish with a girl at the hostel singing a Estonian folk tune with lyrics along the lines of "There's an apple tree on the hill, I picked the silver apple and gave it to my brother.  Then I picked the gold apple and gave it to my mother, etc."  Crank it!

Gamla Stan and Sodermalm, Stockholm

Thanks to Aria and Ravi firmly sealing the deal by having a third wedding, I had an opportunity to blaze through Europe in a whirlwind of adventure, reunion with great friends, revelry, hoots and high jinx.  Trip score: A++++++++++.  The whole thing was a highlight.  My main learnings:

  • Ravi's family sure can party
  • Stockholm -- holy cow -- what a stunning city.  And how is it that every single woman there is gorgeous?
  • Estonia rocks.  2 of my best travel days ever.
  • Capers do not improve the taste of a Leffe; Parisians not impressed by Americans drinking such a concoction

I'm still editing my travel journal.  I'll post that later.  But pictures with captions are here.  And here's my favorite video of the trip where Eman takes on a scooter at a traffic light and narrowly loses the race:

The Django music playing (required for walking the streets of Paris) is from my mini boombox.
